SCAL is proud to host a wide variety of exhibitions spanning many mediums, themes, and age groups. We are thrilled to work with UCSC to provide an opportunity for student curators to achieve professional experience, and give student artists from cross the Bay Area a chance to be featured in a professional gallery.
This exhibition is generally open to all college students in the Bay Area, however specifics are subject to change depending on the curatorial decisions of our intern curators. More information to come, please check back soon for submission requirements and dates.

For nine decades, the Santa Cruz Art League’s Statewide Landscape Exhibition has showcased the work of artists who depict California’s foothills, mountains, seashores, and deserts of the interior and coastal regions. We’re proud to celebrate the beauty of our home state and the talent of its artists with this historic exhibition!

What does it look like to be loved? How do we know that we are significant to someone? A thoughtful gesture, an affirming touch, an act that reveals quiet observation. What is something you’ve received or experienced that made you believe, unequivocally, that you are cared for?
The Santa Cruz Art League invites you to show us how you represent love in your art. All interpretations are welcome. We encourage representations of all types of love, including romantic, familial, communal, platonic, and any other form of love you’ve received or given in a meaningful way.
For all the ways that exist to love and be loved, there are infinitely many ways to experience these emotions and express them through art. In this exhibition, we aim to showcase a wide variety of interpretations and experiences.

Show your work in our gallery while simultaneously supporting the arts in our community! Luck of the Draw is our annual fundraiser, where ticket-holders take home original works donated by artists in our community. Submissions to this exhibition will be won by ticket-holders, with proceeds going to support the Santa Cruz Art League’s 2027 Exhibitions.
This exhibition is open to all and is not juried. There is no limit to the number of pieces you may submit. Submitted artwork will be on display in the gallery from October 28 - November 7 before being win during the event on November 7. A submission form will be linked here beginning on September 1.

Join us in celebrating the creativity of our artistic community! The Santa Cruz Art League Members’ Exhibition is a showcase of art by current members, open to the public to enjoy.
This exhibition is open to all artists with a current SCAL membership as of the exhibition’s opening date: November 18. Each member is invited to submit one piece. The Members’ Exhibition is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and is not juried. Our curator will select a size limit and a maximum number of pieces that can be admitted into the gallery. Submissions may be declined if they exceed the size limit without having received an exemption from the curator, or if we have already reached the maximum number of submissions. As such, we encourage artists to submit well before the deadline to make sure there is still space.
