Expectations for Gallery Exhibitions:
How to prepare your artwork to be featured in the Santa Cruz Art League Gallery
General guidelines for all mediums:
Artwork may not be damaged or in any condition not represented by submission photo.
Damaged frames, backing, or other materials may not be accepted, depending on the extent of the damage.
Guidelines for paintings, drawings, and other wall-hanging, two dimensional pieces:
Artwork must be framed unless it is already on a panel / wood / or other medium that does not require framing.
Artwork must have a mechanism for even and secure wall hanging, such as a wire or keyhole slot. If your piece cannot be hung securely and levelly, we cannot accept it into the gallery.
Guidelines for Textile Arts, Sculpture, Jewelry, and 3-D work:
If artwork is not self standing, please provide a stand or other mechanism for presenting it or contact SCAL to make sure we can provide one.
SCAL will provide pedestals for sculptures to be displayed on in the gallery.
If artwork is extremely heavy, delicate, or difficult to move, please be prepared to assist SCAL staff with installation.
