This ticket will NOT enter you in the Luck of the Draw main event.
Mystery Raffle tickets are an additional and fun way to participate in Luck of the Draw and all proceeds still go to supporting the exhibitions at the Santa Cruz Art League!

Artists and art-lovers look forward all year to the Santa Cruz Art League's biggest event! Luck of the Draw is our annual exhibition and fundraiser, where ticket-holders take home original artworks donated by artists in our community.

With each ticket, your name is entered into a thrilling raffle where, when your name is called, you get to choose any of the available artworks displayed on the gallery walls during the Luck of the Draw exhibit! Plus, with each ticket you buy, you’ll be supporting the Santa Cruz Art League and our ability to continue providing exhibitions and community events that are always free to attend.

How it All Works:
Submitting Artwork
The 2026 artwork pledge form is open! Artists can send in the information for any piece(s) they wish to donate. All artwork is generally accepted, however SCAL reserves the right to decline donations for any reason.
Pledge your piece/s by filling out THIS SUBMISSION form. Please fill out a form for each piece being pledged.
Artwork drop off:
Wednesday, October 21, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Thursday, October 22, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Friday, October 23, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Submissions will remain open until the last drop off day. Artwork can be donated on the drop-off days without completion of the online pledge form, however we highly encourage artists to fill out the form in advance in order to expedite their drop-off process.
Artwork will not be accepted at drop-off if it is not gallery ready.
Buying Tickets
Tickets can be bought online at the top of this page, in person at our office, or over the phone during our office hours. SCAL office hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm and our office staff can be reached by phone at (831) 426-5787.
There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be bought by one person. Buy multiple to increase the odds of winning your top choices!

Viewing the Artwork
The Luck of the Draw exhibition will be on display in our gallery from Wednesday, October 28 through the day of the event, Saturday, November 7. We highly encourage ticket-holders to visit the gallery and create a list of their favorites, or “Wish List,” so that on the day of the event they can be ready to claim their top choice(s)! If you can’t make it in person, we’ll have a virtual gallery online, however we recommend viewing in person.
The artwork will be numbered - please make note of the number associated with each piece you like so that you can refer to your list of numbered pieces easily during the event.
At The Event
During the event, our MCs will be drawing names one by one from the iconic Luck of the Draw top hat. When your name is called, you will have 30 seconds to call out the number of your top choice piece. There will be a handy board at the front of the room that will display the numbers of the artworks still available so you can easily see which pieces on your list are still up for grabs. We highly recommend coming to the event with a list of your top choices so that you can easily decide in the moment, or come at 1:30 just before the event to make your list.
Once you choose your piece, it will be taken to the back room by our runners and labeled with your name. You will then retrieve it at the end of the event (or during intermission) and take it home with you!
Proxy System
Not able to make it on November 7 in person? That’s no problem! You can still win a piece of art through our proxy system. Simply provide our staff with a list of the pieces in the gallery ordered from top choice to last choice by the proxy deadline of 5:00 pm on Friday, November 6.
If you neglect to list every piece in the gallery, your proxy list will still be accepted. However, by doing so you will be provided with an artwork that is left once all names have been called, even if your name was drawn early on in the event. It is very important for you to list as many artworks as possible in the order which you want them so you don’t end up with something you might not prefer. Thank you!
