Clothesline Art Sale: A SCAL Fundraiser
April 12, 2026
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
We’re bringing back a SCAL tradition, with a fresh twist!
Inspired by the original clothesline sales of old, fundraising sales that allowed our founders to purchase this property and build the cinderblock building that is still standing today, this event reimagines that spirit of community support and accessible art. While the historic sales were held outdoors, this updated version will take place inside the SCAL gallery and classroom and will feature a selection of donated artworks including many works by beloved community members Richard Bennett and Gloria Alford, donated posthumously by their families.
We’re excited to engage the community with this new event and help artworks find new homes on walls across the county and beyond. Please join us for this event and help raise funds for continued programming and community support here at SCAL!
If you (or someone you know) have loved artwork/s which your space has outgrown, we would be thrilled to accept your donation. Please reach out to us at admin@scal.org. The drop-off date for donations is April 11, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
