Martina Goulart was born and raised in the Czech Republic, where her passion for art began at an early age. Though her dream of attending art school was initially deferred, she never lost her creative spark. Moving to the United States became a turning point, where she discovered a culture that embraced art as a lifelong pursuit — a revelation that reignited her passion for painting and set her on the path to becoming a professional artist.

Her work is rooted in real places and lived experiences, transforming landscapes into intimate stories that resonate with memory and belonging. Inspired by family adventures, quiet moments in nature, and fleeting glimpses of everyday life, she captures not only the beauty of a place but the emotions it evokes — wonder, nostalgia, and quiet reflection. Viewers often find echoes of their own experiences or are inspired to imagine new adventures. As she reflects, “Each painting captures the soul of a place and preserves the feeling of being there. It is an invitation to remember, explore, and connect — to the world around us and to one another.”
Martina’s work continues to explore the connections between place, memory, and story. From her studio in the Santa Cruz Mountains — surrounded by redwoods, wildlife, and endless inspiration — she creates paintings rooted in lived experience and the landscapes she explores. Her practice extends beyond the studio as well: painting murals, designing sensory paths for schools and public spaces, and collaborating with communities to bring art into daily life.
