This one-week special exhibition features emerging, established, and student artists working in a diverse range of mediums for a show of intergeneration perspectives on a common theme: Future Forward.

The theme Future Forward represents the manifestations, predictions, planning, and ambitions for the individual and/or collective future. What do you see in the future? What are you doing now for the future? What did the future look like in the past, and how has the present lived up to those predictions? The theme can encompass abstract visions, figurative forms, or even literal blue prints. We want you to show us what the concept of looking to the future means to you, in whatever form that takes. Bring your perspective on what’s in store for yourself, your community, for posterity, and the entire known and unknown universe!

Submissions will be accepted or declined by a panel made up of SCAL staff and community members, and there will be a “people’s choice” award voted on by those who view the exhibition. The winner of the people choice will receive a Spotlight Gallery Show, meaning that their work will be shown in our lobby in conjunction with another of our exhibitions.

Timeline:

Submissions Open: February 21st, 2025

Submission Deadline: April 13th, 2025

Acceptance/Rejection Announcements: April 27th, 2025

Artwork Drop Off: May 10th, 4-6pm & May 12th, 12-5pm

Artwork Pick Up: May 24, 4pm - 6pm & May 27,  1pm - 4pm.

Submission Fee: $0 for SCAL Members, $25 for non-members. All entrants limited to 2 submissions.
