Movement: A Moment in Time – Nation Wide Photography Show

Friday, January 17 – Saturday, February 22, 2025

Reception: February 7, First Friday, 6:00-8:00pm

We selected this theme to inspire you to submit photographs that capture the magic of motion in your everyday lives. Movement, with its ever-changing nature, offers a beautiful canvas for you to explore and share your unique perspectives.

Photography is such a special art form because it lets us hold onto those fleeting moments that might otherwise pass us by. This theme invites you to look closely at the different ways movement happens around you, whether it’s the hustle and bustle of a busy city, the peaceful flow of a river, or the gentle swaying of a tree in the breeze. We welcome photos that show both the lively and the calm, the spontaneous and the carefully planned.

Movement is something we all experience, but it is different for each of us. By exploring this theme, you will have the opportunity to show the rhythm and energy of life as you see it. Our exhibition aims to celebrate the many ways movement shapes our world and our experiences. We encourage photographers of all levels to share their work, which will inspire thought, curiosity, and creativity. By participating, you’ll help create a collective story that captures the beauty of moments in motion throughout our Santa Cruz County and beyond.
