Join us for this fun card making class – create greeting cards together with community and friends!
This class starts with a quick planning sketch – then we’ll make blocks by either using scratch foam or carving a rubber or linoleum block.
Once blocks are carved we will print!
Materials:
All Materials are Provided! A $20 materials fee is due at the door.
Please come prepared with ideas (possibly images for inspiration) – so you can jump in to make your cards.
If you have you’re own paper or supplies you’d like to use, feel free to bring it along!
Meet the Instructor:
Katie Simpson is an art educator and mixed media artist from the redwood forest of Aptos. She has an MFA from the City College of New York and a BA from Portland State University, and has been teaching visual art for over a decade. Simpson is an Open Studios Artist who shows all over town, and uses her block prints as part of her bright mixed media acrylic paintings, as well as creating guidebook zines that focus on local Central Coastal California flora and fauna. You may have seen her guidebooks for sale at the State Park Visitor Centers!
