Levels: All Levels

Offered: Four Wednesdays, June 7, 14, 21, 28, 6pm to 8:30pm

Instructor: Toaa Dallo

Location: Santa Cruz Art League

Drawing is the foundation of all visual art. It’s fun and portable, intuitive and expressive. And it forms the basis for larger-scale artworks, anatomical studies, architecture, caricature and cartooning, even sculpture.

This class is for everyone — from people who want to learn about basic drawing techniques, to experienced artists who want to give more depth and dimension to their compositions and creations.

We will do guided exercises, including small-scale studies and sketches, and then apply these lessons in extended sessions. We will explore pencil, charcoal, and ink drawing techniques. In the final meetings, students will focus on one or two drawings of their choice, developing them to completion. And everyone will be invited to share their work with the group, for friendly feedback.

Materials: Pencils (HB, 3B, 6B), Kneaded Eraser, Ink Pens, Drawing Paper.
