OUTSTANDING IN THEIR FIELD
- Mary Comfort recently garnered First Place at the Santa Cruz County
Fair for her collage Santa Cruz
- Maggie Renner Hellmann's oil landscape painting 'Gizdich Farm' was
selected for publication in Artist's Magazine's 2009 National
Limited-Edition Calendar.
- Nancy Howes Watercolor has been accepted into Central Coast
Watercolor Society "Aquarius 2008" Pacific Regional Exhibition of
the Best in Watercolor. The show runs through Oct. 30. The address
is: Morro Bay Art Association Gallery, 835 Main Street, Morro Bay.
- Erika Perloff's pastel painting "Green Gateway" was accepted into the
exhibit Images of Filoli which will be held at Filoli Center in

- Joanna Jarvis is exhibiting her beautiful watercolor paintings at the
Main Branch of the Santa Cruz Library on Church Street. This exhibit
runs through Oct.31st.
- Amy Glover Martin will show her romantic watercolor and pastel
paintings of landscapes and still life at Community TV Oct. and Nov

Financial Updates
On July 30, 2008, the Art League received a $10,000 one year grant from the Rydell Visual Arts Foundation to hire an Administrative Assistant/receptionist and re-enforce our work staff. The Grant came by way of The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County.
Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors meets every third Thursday of every month from 5:15-7pm in the Santa Cruz Art League classroom. There will be refreshments. All are welcome! It's your League, so get involved, have fun!
Exhibition Committee Meeting
Exhibition Committee meets every second Wednesday of the month. Helping hands make our rotating exhibits possible in lieu of an art director or curator. Yes, you are needed and welcomed for as little or as much time as you can invest. The return? Great times, immersion in the art scene, fabulous people! Come learn the ropes of installing an exhibit.
